Week 2 - Artificial Intelligence
Artificial intelligence is proposing endless new possibilities within the world of business, leaving many workers nervous about the state of white-collar jobs. Ethan Mollick, a management professor at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, has been monitoring developments in A.I. tools that create essays, images, voices, codes, and whatever else is based on a user's text inputs. He decided he wanted to see how much these tools could accomplish in a mere 30 minutes.
He discovered that the tools could do market research, create a positioning document, write email campaigns, create websites, logos, hero shot graphics, social media campaigns, and more. Many of these A.I. tools can specifically take over complicated tasks, doing days of work in mere minutes, increasing the worry that A.I. may eventually pose a threat to existing business positions.
